Kids Yoga Classes
I love teaching kids & adults alike
I believe that honest, open-hearted experiences are the foundation for growth as human beings, and yoga emphasizes that.
I am caring, attentive, detail-oriented, practical, good observer and life-loving. I care a lot about the environment and how we can promote peace and togetherness.
My adult Vinyasa classes are designed to cultivate awareness of body & mind. I add playfulness to sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, balancing & more. Expect some chanting and pranayama (breathing practice) as part of our time together. Contact me directly if you want to invime me to teach.
My kids and family yoga classes are structured to be complete yoga classes, but with the appropriate modifications, language and props for each age group. Read more details in the KIDS PROGRAMS page.
How did I get here?
I have a multi-faceted education and work background. Starting in Brazil – my country of origin – with Visual Arts (degree in Architecture) and Computer Graphics (Web and Graphic Design), I moved to the US to pursue a Masters degree in Music and stayed for good. I also have other areas of interest that I believe can contribute to my work: meditation, dancing, singing/music, improvisation, and early childhood education.

Why Kids and Family Yoga?
In my opinion, one of the most valuable jobs for a better world is to work directly with kids, providing an environment where they can grow confident and kind, respecting their bodies, being mindful, exploring their surroundings, finding their own natural abilities and challenging their minds and bodies in a playful and fulfilling way. I strive to use positive language and discipline, resolving conflicts in a way to empower kids to self-regulate and nurture respect for themselves and others.
My experience with Kids Yoga
In 2018 I was a kids yoga instructor at Fairview Elementary for a year, where I taught Kindergartners and 1st graders 3 times a week as part of their curriculum. These were 20-minute classes. I also worked at a Montessori Yoga Summer Camp as an assistant in July 2018.
In 2019-2020 I implemented a Yoga Club at University Elementary School for kids 6-12 years old, teaching twice a week dozens of kids. These were 45-minute afterschool classes.
In 2019 I was invited to create short series of videos for WTIU about Animal Yoga. They are still aired as of today in the Health offices around Bloomington.
In 2019 I opened my home studio and had dozens of yoga students during the day and after school, until the pandemic forced me to close it. I reopened in 2021.
In January 2022 I attended the eCourse Teaching Chair Yoga to Kids, by Yoga International, adding another resource for teaching at schools.
In the summer of 2023, I taught a group of kids at PALS Grief program.
In 2023 I attended the hybrid couse Navigating Anxiety in Children: Meeting Stress With Inner Strength with Jennifer Cohen from Omega Holistic Institute in NY.
In 2023 I started teaching at The Cocuun yoga studio weekly and monthly workshops for kids ages 5-10 and family groups.
I’ve been volunteering for Habitat of Humanity, Cancer Support Center, and Templeton Club Fridays.
Early childhood experience:
Starting in 2012, I worked as teacher assistant for 2 years at IU Campus View Childcare Center, from infants to 3 year-olds. In 2018 I restarted to work regularly with kids at Gan Shalom Learning Center, where I started to develop my yoga classes.
I have attended conferences in Early Childhood Education 3 times, following my interest in learning more about the education field.
I also have experience working as teacher assistant during regular school and summer at Montessori School for a couple of years.
We have a 9 year old who teaches us so much about life and encourages us to become better people every day!
My experience with adult yoga
I’ve been practicing yoga since my twenties, and meditation since my thirties, back in Brazil.
In US, in 2014 I completed my 250 hours yoga teacher training at Maxwell House Yoga, in collaboration with the Institute of Holistic Yoga, Florida, under the direction of Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati.
In 2020 I finished a second Yoga Teacher Training with Nourishing Heart Yoga, becoming a Yoga Alliance certified teacher RYT200.
I am forever grateful for the wonderful community of teachers and practitioners I learned from.
May all beings be peaceful, happy and free!
